Gentlemen,
There are several things planned for the players over the summer; they are encouraged to attend, but these early dates are not mandatory. We will be lifting in the weight room at the high school 3 days a week MWF. That begins Wednesday June 21st right after school ends. The weight room will be open from 6:00 to 10:00 AM and again on MWF from 4:30 - 6:15. There will be coaches there to assist the boys with technique and programs. The players sign up for the schools lifting camp online just like any of the other summer sports camps the school offers. There are also on field drills beginning on July 5th. We will be on the field MW from 6-7:30 PM here at the high school and continuing through early August. A small group of older players will play in a summer passing league in E.G. on Fridays beginning July 7th, games begin at 6:30 pm. We will also try to enter some 7 on 7 tournaments this summer.
There has been a change in staff at Anna Maria College so the camp we have attended there is still unresolved. If we are able to put that together it will be in the 3rd Monday in July. If that does not work out I will try to put together some other team camp opportunity for our squad.
In August, we begin actual practices with a day of testing on Saturday 8/5 at 12 noon, we will handout of equipment and and end the day with a family cookout 4:00-5:30. Then, the DBL sessions begin the following week on Thursday 8/10. The players will be at the facility from 1:00 am - 8:00 pm through DBL's. They need to have a meal for between practices and we will provide plenty of fluids. We will have DBLs until Friday 8/18, a single practice beginning at 3:00 PM. This precedes the first scrimmage with Barrington on Monday, 8/21 at 10:00 am. The Freshmen will also scrimmage at Barrington. The players will have Sundays off. The following Tuesday, 8/22 may begin 3 more days of DBLs until Friday 8/25 which will be a single again at 3:00. Saturday, 8/26 both the Varsity and Freshmen will scrimmage at Portsmouth again at 10:00 AM. The following Monday we will begin our normal weekly preparations for the Injury Fund on Friday 9/2.
